History of Mansion Alcazar
A restored colonial Mansion was
converted into a luxurious Boutique Hotel, to satisfy the most
demanding travelers. Mansión Alcázar is located in the heart of
the city of Cuenca, Ecuador. This city was declared a World
Cultural Heritage City by UNESCO in 1999; as a result of community
efforts to restore the splendid beauty of earlier times.
This house belonged to Enrique
Cordero, son of an honorable gentleman who was President of the
country, Mr. Luis Cordero. The house was known as "Casa
Cordero" until 1999 when it was converted into Boutique Hotel
The interior decoration evokes
the style of the beginning of the century, with careful selection
of fine furniture and objets d’art that embellished in earlier
times, the most
luxurious rooms in one of the most beautiful
cities in Ecuador.
